Things WE think about, and think YOU could too…

Power of the Big Toe
Think for a moment about how YOUR body moves magically through space, and how ALL your body parts seem to magically know what to do in that movement. It makes sense that whatever is in contact with Earth during that movement would be the first thing to take action – a pushing action against the Earth, and that everything above that would need to follow, in sequence or there would be NO magic movement through space…

ATHLETES USE 3000 YEAR OLD CONDITIONING PRINCIPLES TO INNOVATE… FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE
“The High Performance Management Model: From Olympic and Professional to University Sport in the United States”. It describes the development and value of having someone manage the balancing of all the elements of an Athlete's life necessary to produce consistent, healthy, long term, valuable, satisfying high-level performances.

GOLF: Thought of the Month - COMPETE!
When I was growing up, I had a Great Coach… She made a lasting impact on my game and my life. She would always tell me, “don’t play golf swing on the course, play golf."

QUESTION: “What do you mean ACTIVITY?”
I will ask questions about what kinds of activities people like to do and what kinds of activities they don’t like to do. The range of answers can be incredible. I Don’t Like to… to run, to swim, Push Ups, strength training, etc… “I have bad knees”, “my Dad believed in sink or swim as a means to teach me how to swim”, “I can’t even do one”, “I don’t want to bulk up”…

OVER-TRAINING: Don’t be a Tripod with one leg too short.
What does that mean? The automatic assumption about Over-Training is that someone “trained too much”. In this assumption, too much running, or too much strength training are usually thought to be the culprits…

QUESTION: “Which is better, the treadmill or the bike?”
My answer is always the same, “which one do you like better?” And almost without exception their response is “the one that is better for me, so which one should I do?”; typically I will say again, “which one do you like better?”… one day I couldn’t help myself, I wanted to see how many times someone would go round and round in this circle of questions and answers… seven times before they finally rephrased by commanding me to “just pick one!” So, I very slowly said, “the one you like better.” Finally, it made sense to them.
